Blue Sky is a gem I discovered last year. Their morning treats make you get up from bed early even on weekends. I really liked the athmosphere there and one of the owners, Erik, was so kind to let me hang few illustrations on their walls. Here they are...

WOMAN IS A CELEBRATION OF SELF-EXPRESSION. RECEPTION: SAT July 14th, 2007 7PM
SHOW DATES: July 14th - July 31st, 2007
Six of us formed The Orchids: a collaborative group of eclectic women motivating each other to create art and foster a supportive artistic community. Our exhibitions are representations of our commitment to inspire people to explore and experience art in its pure form.
We created the group after participating in Opening: People and Places on January 13, 2007. The success and joy of the show fostered a desire to do more. With community being a central value of our group, we decided for this show to include MIC-Women’s Health Services at Williamsburg, a nonprofit organization that provides family planning, ob-gyn, and prenatal care services to low-income and immigrant women in the Williamsburg community. Each of the artists will give a piece of her work to the MIC-Williamsburg clinic.
Thank you for being part of our community and joining us for the latest viewing of our creative exports. We look forward to seeing you!

Open studio weekend june 9-10 12-6pm
I hope YOU already have many spectacular summer plans as it approaches us with its own chosen speed. It was only couple of months ago when I was walking up on Union Street in Brooklyn with a big smile on my face, high-fiving low-hanging golden tree leaves on my way. That day I got invited to participate in Red Hook/Carroll gardens Open Studio Tour that is taking place this weekend.
This annual event allows art lovers to delve more deeply into the area's vibrant art scene; over 100 participating artists in 30 studios will open their doors to the public, offering a unique and exciting opportunity to meet the artists and learn about the origins of some of Brooklyn's freshest art.
I'll be sharing a space on 160 Union St, Brooklyn, with Ellie Winberg and Mauricio Morillas. Come by if you are in the neighborhood. I'll be there on and off on Saturday and all day on Sunday. June 9-10 from noon to 6PM. here is a map for your convenience:
There are many other exciting news about upcoming events. Couple of Red Hook shows with BWAC, mid-July group show WOMAN in Williamsburg and (quite)big solo in November at the Doma in Greenwich Village.
Extreme Paper gallery/studio to share the open house with Ellie, Mauricio and Celia.

SOLOMON BURKE AT B.B. KING
I often get inspired when I listen to music. Good music makes beautiful pictures.
Tonight I went to see Solomon Burke at B.B. King Blues Club. It was such a great show filled with best music and beautiful people. Thanks, Hugo, for leading the way. Here are few clips from tonight.

Kids in T-shirts who think that summer has arrived to stay.
I am feeling like the bear who has just woken up from a winter sleep. Sleepy but anxious to hunt blueberries. Suddenly there is so much sunshine and many bird songs, so much blue sky, snow water rivers mixed with dry asphalt, dirt, open windows....I am exited about the spring.
It is time to start painting again. January and February were about hibernating and fantasizing. Now I want to draw and see what everybody else is doing. Even stopped by in Chelsea few times and reached out to local artists to make arrangements for Carroll Gardens/Red Hook Studio Tour that's coming up this summer.
